Hempstead, New York – On April 25, another woman became a new victim of the abortion cartel. This time, a 20-year-old female had an anaphylactic reaction after having an abortion procedure at the Planned Parenthood (PP) in Hempstead, New York.
The Emergency:
Anaphylaxis, also known as anaphylactic shock, is a “severe allergic reaction that needs to be treated immediately” according to the portal WebMD. From public records, it is not clear whether the reaction happened due to a surgical or chemical abortion procedure. A severe allergy can result from pain medications given for a surgical abortion or the drugs used in chemical abortion, mifepristone and misoprostol.
During the 911 call, the caller from Planned Parenthood, who identified herself as a nurse, stated that the patient felt “her throat was closing,” which means the patient was very likely entering stage 3 of anaphylaxis. In this stage, patients experience shortness of breath and chest pain and need emergency treatment. After that, comes stage 4, when anaphylaxis can lead to death.
Liberal policies and consequences
New York, one of the most liberal states regarding abortion access, allows mothers to have abortions up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, which is after established fetal viability if the baby were born alive. Following 24 weeks, abortions are still allowed in New York if for any reason if recommended by a “health professional.”
Legislators who pass laws allowing this type of unfettered abortion ignore cases of women injured or killed. For instance, the woman in this Hempstead Planned Parenthood case suffered a dangerous reaction apparently to medication used for an abortion.
A similar case occurred in Des Plaines, Illinois – another state where legislators’ guiding policy is the “right” to abortion – when a 34-year-old woman had to be resuscitated after being overdosed with fentanyl by abortionist Cheryl Chastine at Access Health Center (also known as American Women’s Center).
Voices asking questions about physical harm to women are often silenced. In many instances, concerned citizens requesting access to public information about these emergencies are denied or told the records are nonexistent.
For example, gaining access to the public 911 audio file for this emergency was not an easy task. After multiple denials, the Operation Rescue team utilized an alternate approach to secure a partial audio file.
“These so-called ‘clinics’ do not exist to offer ‘healthcare’ but rather to profit from the killing of innocent children,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “And if a woman is injured or killed in the process, Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities continually try to hide and deny it. These facilities need to be held accountable. Unfortunately many states do not demand adherence to basic safety standards required of real medical clinics.”
