Suit to be filed Monday against Tom Ridge for First Amendment Violations
BOSTON, MASS — Operation Rescue West’s fleet of Truth Trucks are circling Boston exposing the Democratic ticket of Kerry and Edwards as “A Bloody Team for a Bloody America.” The billboard-sized panels are emblazoned with the result of Kerry and Edward’s “choice” — large graphic pictures of aborted children.
On Saturday, the Truth Trucks were pulled over by police at gunpoint, detained, and searched. “There were thousands of other trucks on the street, but none were pulled over but our trucks,” said ORW President Troy Newman, who was ordered out of one of the vehicles and put “spread eagle” against a wall. He was released after police determined that the Truth Trucks posed no security threat. “Security is so tight, we literally cannot park inside Boston,” Newman said.
Newman reported that the Truth Trucks were pulled over by police four times on Saturday. One driver, Denny Green, was issued a noise citation for preaching Romans 1 over the Truck’s loudspeaker.
ORW will file a lawsuit on Monday against Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge and the Secret Service for content-based discrimination. A permit obtained by ORW and the Christian Defense Coalition from the City of Boston to pray in John Kerry’s neighborhood was rescinded by the Secret Service on Friday. ORW lead attorney Brian Chavez-Ochoa, who is representing ORW and the CDC, will ask of an injunction against the Federal Government from interfering with their Constitutional Rights.
Saturday evening ORW and the Truth Truck Fleet attended the welcoming reception party attended by over 8,000 people. The Trucks have been circling the city visiting every place people are gathered, including the Fleet Center, Fanuel Hall, the Boston Commons, the Convention Center, and all the delegate hotels.
Sunday morning ORW’s staff and Truth Trucks protested outside the Catholic church where Kerry holds membership.
