Lathrup Village, MI – A lawsuit was filed last week against Detroit area abortionist Alberto Hodari for negligence and incompetence for subjecting a woman to an unnecessary abortion procedure after failing to diagnose an ectopic pregnancy.
This lawsuit follows on the heels of notification that Hodari is officially under investigation by the Bureau of Health Profession for his involvement in forced abortions. That investigation was prompted by a complaint filed by Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, notifying the Bureau of a lawsuit filed by Caitlin Bruce alleging that Hodari forced an abortion on her after she had withdrawn her consent. OR also reported a second incident of forced abortion after Hodari’s victim came forward 20 years later.
This latest suit alleges that Marcia Lanqua, 33, went to Hodari’s Womancare of Southfield abortion clinic on May 6, 2009, for an abortion. She had been refused an abortion by another clinic in Deerfield because an ultrasound performed on her did not reveal an intrauterine pregnancy, which is an indication of the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy.
Ectopic pregnancies occur when a pregnancy implants in a fallopian tube, which cannot sustain a growing baby. This creates a life-threatening condition for the mother.
Lanqua’s lawsuit indicates that Hodari lacked the skill to diagnose the ectopic pregnancy and instead he negligently committed an unnecessary uterine abortion on her. Lanqua was admitted to a hospital nine days later where her fallopian tube was removed. Lanqua asserts that she may not have lost her fallopian tube if Hodari had properly identified and treated her ectopic pregnancy.
Lanqua’s suit only adds to a growing list of troubles for Hodari. Last year, Hodari put his abortion clinics on the market along with his classic car collection and hastily filed for a divorce. He is currently serving probation for the illegal dumping of private medical records. Hodari was fined $10,000 last year for his part in the death of Regina Johnson. Hodari has been involved in at least three additional abortion deaths.
“Operation Rescue is working publicly and behind the scenes to make sure that Hodari is properly brought to justice. We will make sure that the appropriate authorities overseeing Hodari’s license are notified of Mrs. Lanqua’s suit and that it is added to his file,” said Newman. “We pray that the Michigan Department of Community Health will act swiftly to revoke Hodari’s license before other women are hurt by him.”
