Topeka, KS – The state budget, which contains an amendment put forth by Sen. Tim Huelskamp that would effectively deny tax money to Planned Parenthood is on the desk of Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson. That amendment was passed with the overwhelming support of both houses of the legislature.
Operation Rescue provided Sen. Huelskamp and other legislators with a recording of an undercover phone call to Planned Parenthood in Overland Park, Kansas, that showed the abortion clinic ignoring a clear case of statutory rape, and even telling a supposed 14-year old victim that her 23-year old boyfriend could pick up her birth control pills.
Kansas governors hold line item veto power. Parkinson must take action on the budget by May 25.
Please contact Gov. Parkinson and ask him to sign the budget with the Huelskamp amendment included. Make it clear that you oppose tax money going to Planned Parenthood.
