Battle Creek, MI – The Michigan news station WWMT.com, is reporting that a 24-year old woman was found dead in her mother’s home in Battle Creek just days after having an abortion.
This news comes just days after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down certain Texas safety regulations as posing an “undue burden” on women.
“I think dying from an apparently botched abortion is worse than having to drive a couple of extra miles for an abortion,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “If this woman’s death is indeed due to a shoddy abortion, it should give the five justices that voted to gut abortion safety something new to think about.”
The news report stated that the woman received an abortion on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at an unknown abortion facility.
By July 2, she reported to a Bronson Battle Creek Hospital suffering from pain. She was given pain medication and released. After she was released, she decided to stay at her mother’s house near the hospital so family could help care for her.
Two days later, on July 4, she was found dead in her mother’s bed. A grandmother told a WWMT reporter that the deceased woman left a one-year old son.
Detective Sergeant Troy Gilleylen, with Battle Creek Police, told the reporter, “She was laying on her mother’s bed in the basement. There was no signs of any foul play or any external injury or anything that appeared to be out of the ordinary for us.”
Nevertheless, police are investigating to determine if there was any criminal aspect to the case.
Ruling out foul play and understanding that the woman had suffered abortion complications leaves an abortion injury as a likely cause of death, but an autopsy is expected to clarify exactly why this woman died.
A complete autopsy is expected in three to four weeks.
The closest and most likely abortion facility visited by the Battle Creek woman is the Kalamazoo Health Center Planned Parenthood, which was involved in another abortion-related medical emergency on September 10, 2015, in which a teenager was having difficulty breathing. During that incident, a Planned Parenthood worker instructed the ambulance to pick up the patient from the rear delivery entrance and also requested an “early shutdown,” presumably of lights and sirens as the ambulance arrived. Shutting down lights and sirens could cause the ambulance to be delayed by traffic.
A number of abortionists are employed at the Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood, including Mandy Gittler, who was involved in the death of second-trimester abortion patient Tonya Reaves at a Chicago Planned Parenthood facility in 2012. Planned Parenthood paid out a settlement of $1.5 million to Reaves surviving son.
Another abortionist at the Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood is Lisa Harris, who was featured on a Center for Medical Progress video admitting that she harvests eyeballs and other tissue babies she aborts and makes them available to researchers in exchange for grants.
Operation Rescue will continue to follow this breaking story.
