Airplane is expected to fly pro-life banner over Wichita during the event
Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue will hold a press conference to discuss the four-day event, “A Cry For Justice,” which will kick off tomorrow, January 19, at noon.
WHAT: A Cry For Justice Press Conference
WHEN: Friday, January 19, 2007, at NOON
WHERE: Women’s Health Care Services, 5107 E. Kellogg, Wichita
WHO: Operation Rescue and other nationally-known Christian leaders
“A Cry for Justice” was launched in response to comments made by Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who told his viewing audience that there should be “thousands protesting” George R. Tiller’s late-term abortion business in Wichita, Kansas.
Events over the four days will include efforts to dissuade women from obtaining abortions through peaceful and loving outreach as well as a call on officials to reinstate the 30 criminal charges that were filed against Tiller by former Attorney General Phill Kline, only to be dismissed on jurisdictional grounds.
Saturday there will be an all day conference at Heartland Community Church, and Sunday will feature a dedication of the former Central Women’s Services abortion building, which is being renovated to become a memorial for the pre-born and OR’s national headquarters.
The Center for Bioethical Reform is expected to fly aerial banners displaying the image of an aborted baby around the City of Wichita during the event.
“Christians from all over the nation are showing that they care enough about the injustice going on in Wichita at George Tiller’s abortion mill to take time off their jobs and make a sacrificial trip to Kansas in the middle of winter in order to send the message that this heinous abortion business must stop,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “The eyes of the nation are on this community and this state, watching to see if justice will be done.”
