A Pro-Life Ecumenical Christian Prayer for President Donald J. Trump on his Inauguration Day

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, praising Your holy name for the many blessings You have bestowed upon this nation. Today, we thank You for the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, whom You have raised up to lead our country at this critical moment in history. We acknowledge that Your Word declares, “He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings” (Daniel 2:21), and we humbly recognize that President Trump has been appointed by Your sovereign hand for such a time as this.

We lift up President Trump, his family, and his cabinet to Your throne of grace. Surround them with Your divine protection, wisdom, and guidance as they lead our nation. We pray, Father, that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be silenced by Your truth. Guard their hearts and minds with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, Your Word teaches us, “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan” (Proverbs 29:2). We rejoice that You have brought an end to the rule of those who embraced wickedness, such as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, whose policies grieved Your heart. May this new administration restore righteousness and justice to our land.

Father, we boldly pray an imprecatory prayer against all those who seek to harm President Trump, his administration, or the cause of life. Just as David prayed, “Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away” (Psalm 35:5), we ask that You would thwart the plans of the wicked, expose their schemes, and bring their efforts to nothing. Uproot every stronghold of corruption and deception, and establish truth and justice in every corner of our government.

We cry out to You, Lord, to end the atrocity of abortion in America. Let there be a complete cessation of this evil practice. We ask for the banning of abortion pills and the closure of every facility that profits from the shedding of innocent blood. We especially ask that no government entity, including the NIH, would ever again engage in the buying or selling of baby body parts. Father, may America repent of this grievous sin and embrace a culture of life.

As Pope John Paul II declared, help us to “build a culture of life” throughout the world. May America once again be a shining city on a hill, a champion for life and not death. Let us follow the legacy of leaders like President Ronald Reagan, who boldly proclaimed the sanctity of life and fought to protect the unborn.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would make America great again—not by our own strength, but under the cross of Christ. May we turn back to You with humble hearts, seeking first Your kingdom and righteousness. Bless this nation as we submit to Your will and follow Your ways.

We dedicate this new chapter in America’s history to You, Almighty God. Lead us, guide us, and bless us as we proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord over this land.
