Lynnwood, WA – An ambulance was summoned to the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Lynnwood, Washington, to transport a 35-year-old woman suffering a possibly dangerous hemorrhage.
According to a heavily redacted Computer Aided Dispatch Transcript (CAD) provided to Operation Rescue by a local pro-life activist, the incident took place on Friday, March 12, 2021, at approximately 1:00 p.m. An ambulance equipped for Basic Life Support was dispatched with a status indicating the situation did not require lights or sirens.
Planned Parenthood abortion facilities have been known to request no lights and no sirens, even during life-threatening emergencies, but it is unknown if that was specifically requested during this incident, or if it was the determination of the dispatcher. No audio recording of the actual 911 call was available.
A common code used by emergency responders across the nation was found in the CAD that referred to the type and seriousness of the condition as a “possibly dangerous hemorrhage” that was not immediately life-threatening. It was one of the few relevant pieces of information on the CAD that was left unredacted.
The Planned Parenthood in Lynnwood dispenses abortion pills but does not conduct surgical abortions. However, it does conduct post-abortion follow-up exams.
This incident appears to have been connected to a woman returning with a complication to a pill abortion. Hemorrhage is known complication to abortion-inducing drugs.
“There are serious risks to both surgical and pill abortions that are downplayed by Planned Parenthood. That is why it is so important to document incidents like this one that occur at abortion facilities all too often,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We have reported on hundreds of medical emergencies at abortion facilities and our growing body of evidence proves that abortion is not safe for women. It also represents the tragic loss of life in terms of the babies whose lives are cut short by abortion.”
Operation Rescue’s data compiled on abortion-related medical emergencies has been used to prompt investigations of dangerous abortion facilities, support pro-life legislation, and defend life-saving laws in courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
