New York City, NY — The day after Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, two happened at Planned Parenthood.
First, Cecile Richards released a panicked statement expressing her dismay at Trump’s victory.
“Let’s get all these words out of the way: Devastated. Angry. Heartbroken. Outraged. Shocked. Sad. Disgusted. Ashamed. Discouraged. Exhausted. Shattered,” Richards wrote.
But there were four more words that Richards wanted to share with her supporters: “These. Doors. Stay. Open.”
That same day, Planned Parenthood announced that it was closing its doors in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
So much for “These. Doors. Stay. Open.”
But another thing happened just days before. At Planned Parenthood’s flagship abortion facility, the Margaret Sanger Center on Bleecker Street in New York City, an ambulance came for an African-American woman who was carted out of Planned Parenthood in a wheelchair, put onto a stretcher, and loaded into an awaiting ambulance.
Why a wheelchair? It is likely that the Bleeker Street Planned Parenthood cannot accommodate a gurney, leaving women in the lurch when a medical emergency occurs. Similar scenes have been repeated with alarming frequency at Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide. Some Planned Parenthood abortion patients, such as Cree Erwin and Tonya Reaves, have even died.
It is ironic that the recently injured woman in New York along with Erwin and Reaves, were all young female African Americans — the same demographic courted by Hillary Clinton during her Planned Parenthood-supported presidential campaign.
These days the unvarnished truth is hard to come by. People would rather believe Planned Parenthood’s propaganda language referencing their wide range of “health services” and how they are the only health care option for poor women, which supposedly would have to do without cancer screenings if Planned Parenthood were to close up shop.
The reality is something far different. Here’s some truth talk you won’t read in the New York Times: Women are better off without Planned Parenthood, which is primarily in business to promote their biggest cash product, abortion. Everything else, including health and safety standards, is expendable.
The Scranton office never offered abortions. Instead, it supplied pregnancy tests, HIV and STD testing, and birth control. (No mention of cancer screenings, by the way, on their website.)
But those services do not garner the big money that Planned Parenthood’s abortion centers produce. For the past two years, Operation Rescue has noted a well-developed trend: if a Planned Parenthood office cannot convert to a profitable abortion center, it gets shut down. The fact is that Planned Parenthood has been in the process of downsizing, and the closing of the Scranton Center is just one more in a long list of closed Planned Parenthood clinics that did not offer lucrative abortions.
So much for Richard’s insistence that her organization’s primary purpose is to provide “health care” to poor people, and that abortion services are just a small fraction of what they do. Abortion is PRIMARILY what Planned Parenthood does, and the closing of the non-abortion centers proves it.
Now, facing the real prospect that the Trump Administration will completely take them off the public dole, we can expect to see even more closures in the coming months.
And, we can expect to see more ambulances.
As Planned Parenthood consolidates their abortion businesses to operate out of high volume “mega-centers,” there is an increased risk of complications, especially at the busy clinics that run women through the abortion process like cattle in order to maximize profits.
Planned Parenthood invested over $30 million this year alone to ensure that Hillary Clinton was the next president. They were convinced that she would win handily. Once in the White House, Planned Parenthood expected that she would increase their funding and help them launch an unprecedented expansion of abortion services.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Richards must have watched in anguish as she saw her expansion plans flushed down the drain along with her $30 million investment in Clinton’s candidacy.
Today, Planned Parenthood exists in a new world that is the diametric opposite of the one they expected – one where the table can finally be set to end abortion and the human suffering that goes with it, once and for all.
While Planned Parenthood and the rest of the Abortion Cartel panic, those of us who work to end abortion are energized. We have hope for the future and we don’t plan to squander it.
Here are four more words for Planned Parenthood.
Your. Doors. Will. Close.
Now, with the new pro-life Trump Administration to back us up, it’s just a matter of time.
