Topeka, KS — Earlier this month Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline sued pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to block the illegal use of state funds to pay for abortions. In an attempt at disinformation, Sebelius’ spokesperson Nicole Corcoran told reporters, “To comply with these requirements would jeopardize the health care dollars Kansas receives from Medicaid which totaled $1.2 billion last year alone.” This assertion was immediately discounted by Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, who assured reporters that was not the case. This suit also asks the courts make the determination that life begins at conception. [Read the lawsuit]
It has been reported that at least three tissue samples from aborted babies have been turned over to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) in compliance with the new Child Rape Protection Act. The new law requires abortion mills to submit samples of fetal tissue to the KBI, under Kline’s direction, when abortions are performed on girls under 14 years of age. This law is meant to assist law enforcement in capturing and prosecuting child rapists.
Oral arguments are scheduled to be heard on September 8, 2005 before the Kansas Supreme Court regarding the release of medical records to law enforcement investigating cases of child rape and illegal late-term abortions. Kansas abortion mills, including George R. Tiller’s infamous Women’s Health Care Services, sued to block the release of medical records to Attorney General Phill Kline under the guise of “patient privacy.” Kline fought back indicating that stonewalling by the abortion mills hindered his criminal investigation into child rape cases and protected the sexual predators. In a similar case, the Indiana Supreme Court already ruled that abortion mill records must be released to law enforcement officials in that state.
“In all three of these cases, the suspicious actions of pro-abortion politicians and abortions mills indicate they have much to hide, and much to loose if the truth of their dirty little businesses is ever uncovered,” said Operation Rescue Troy Newman.
